Cordyceps is a genus of medicinal fungi traditionally known for growing on insects in the wild. The most well-known species, Cordyceps sinensis, is sometimes called “caterpillar fungus” because it naturally parasitises moth larvae. While Cordyceps militaris, a cultivated species in the same group, is often highlighted for its potent compounds, it is considered a novel food and is not permitted for sale to the public.
That’s why we use Cordyceps sinensis CS-4 strain, a cultivated, mycelial form that’s approved for use in food supplements. It’s grown under carefully controlled conditions for consistency, purity, and efficacy.
